Violence in the Garden by Polly Peachum

Violence in the Garden by Polly Peachum was my first exposure to BDSM a long time ago, even before the Spider. It changed my life. Before then, I thought BDSM was all about leather and chains and fashion. After reading that article, I knew it was my life.

I found the article on the submissivewomenspeak.net website, which is now defunct. I devoured that website many times over and picked apart everything Jon Jacobs and Polly Peachum had to say about slaving. Fortunately, TakenInHand is hosting at least this one article as a monument.

Note that while I like many of Jon Jacobs’ ideas about ownership, I certainly do not care for his elitist and isolationist thinking. All in all, though, his intimate connection with his slave and how she was his majordomo and even a part of him struck a chord with me. She may have been his property, but she was also his companion. I envied them both their relationship.
